Employees in support functions are indispensable to our organization. Behind the scenes, a lot of work is done to make sure everything runs smoothly. The colleagues at Operations ensure that everyone can do their job without facing any problems.

Facility management

Facility Management takes care of the housing for the entire bank. A huge portfolio, because this concerns the offices where employees are located and all branches where we welcome our customers. From quiet areas to 'hot zones': we devise innovative, sustainable concepts based on the needs of our colleagues and customers, set them up and maintain them. Transparency and sustainability have become spearheads. Bad wood? No, thank you. Recycling or reuse? Yes, please! That our approach works is shown by the BREEAM certificate that our head office received as the most sustainable office building in the world.

Purchasing

Purchasing (Procurement) is responsible for the external purchase of all products above € 50,000. From buildings to cleaning and from mobile telephones to valuables transport. The playing field of the department is all of ABN AMRO: all business lines, the subsidiaries and international branches of the bank.
In addition to purchasing, we also have a monitoring and advisory function. We check whether suppliers meet all conditions, for example in the field of sustainability and transparency. We also check whether the lines with Compliance are running smoothly and advise the various business lines. Naturally, we closely monitor the market to see which developments are valuable to ABN AMRO.

Process and Project Management

Project and process managers are among the bridge builders within the bank. We always bring projects and processes to a successful end. Whether we see an opportunity for improvement and seize it with a project-based approach or solve bottlenecks in processes; we connect the business lines and the support functions of the bank. We analyse change wishes, formulate realistic goals and give support. In this way we optimize ABN AMRO's services and contribute to a bank that works LEAN, becomes more and more agile and is ready for the future.
