Business Developer / Consultant Settlement & Custody

Then become a Business Developer in our Settlement & Custody team!

Your job

As a Business Developer in our Settlement & Custody team, you help us translate the wishes of our external and internal stakeholders to deliverables, with a first focus on Payments. Together with the team, you:

  • Analyse externally imposed changes to assess and define the impact on our applications
  • Analyse and define the changes needed to be able to optimize our internal processes
  • Communicate and explain the impact of changes towards a wide range of stakeholders: from senior management, external partners and commercial colleagues all the way to IT developers 
  • Interact with our stakeholders to come up with improvements in our existing landscape 
  • Coordinate and test developed changes together with our stakeholders 
  • Work in a scrum team with a three week sprint cycle using the Atlassian suite (Confluence, JIRA) to track and document changes

Working environment

You will work in the Settlement & Custody Block of the ABN AMRO Clearing GRID. The team consists of Business Developers and IT Engineers, focusing on settlement, corporate action and payment processing in our Custody systems. The team works in an agile way with three week sprints. A Product Owner sets the priorities for the sprints in consultation with stakeholders and the team is supported by a Scrum Master. Our Custody software is developed and maintained by a third party, so there is no software development within in team. The team is highly professional and has an informal way of working with each other. We aim to deliver the team goals together and don't like people who are only interested in their own successes.

Your profile

We are looking for a pragmatic and structured person that is willing to work together in a team with Business Developers and IT Engineers. 
You are:

  • Fun to work with and eager to make the team succeed
  • Used to working in an international environment - English is a must. Cultural sensitivity is very important as you will work with different nationalities
  • Experienced in working in the post-trade equities industry. The way of working of CSD's, Payment Agents and SWIFT should not be a mystery for you
  • In-depth knowledge on Payments is preferred
  • Used to working in an environment in which IT is a strong enabler for business. You have experience working on complex IT implementations together with IT developers
  • Not afraid of legacy systems and you have the drive and stamina to improve our applications
  • Able to work with externally imposed deadlines and the resulting stress and responsibility
  • Not afraid to dive into details - you go a few levels deeper than the Powerpoint level and know how to document these details efficiently
