Trade Support - Fixed Term Contract

The Global Execution Services (GES), Functional Support Analyst will report to the GES, Functional Support Manager/Global Support Co-ordinator.

Context of the Job :

•    GES is a department which services clients access to global derivatives, equities, commodities and FX markets to complement the clearing services of ABN AMRO Clearing Bank N.V.; (This is not a IT Support or IT Developer role).
•    GES clients include Professional Trading Groups (HFT, Market Makers & Day Trading Proprietary Trading Groups), Corporate Hedgers, Funds & Institutional clients;
•    GES has a dependency and strong working relationship with the following departments: Risk, Compliance, Commercial Support, Relationship Management and IT;
•    GES provides the following products/services to its clients: Direct Market Access, Sponsored Access, Member Hosting;
•    GES is a complex department due to governance and controls that need to be in place to protect the market infrastructure from disorderly markets. This is made more complex by the fragmentation of trading venues and competitive nature of the DMA & Automated Trading Industry.  A comprehensive knowledge of supporting Trading Technologies, trading software and proficiency in financial exchange GUI's is essential for this role.

The mission is to provide a service that clients use to access global derivative, securities, commodities and FX markets using the memberships of ABN AMRO, or where they access markets via infrastructure provided by ABN AMRO.  This also includes facilitating access to markets where ABN AMRO does not carry membership, i.e. via 3rd party broker relationships.

Purpose of the job:

Provide support to traders’ using the ABN AMRO GES infrastructure to trade.  To set-up new clients on the trading systems, administer trading limits on the systems, and perform daily and monthly duties around the functional administration of the GES systems, clients and department.

Your job

•    Provide support for ABN AMRO Clearing Clients.
•    Ensure smooth running of the trading systems, have regular contact with the ISV’s Exchanges, other ABN staff and Traders.
•    Monitor platforms and engage in kill switch activities.
•    Set up new traders and remove old traders from the trading systems, enabling accounts, and connecting trading keys, passwords to exchanges to allow for traders to go live, or be restricted as required.
•    Vendor testing and documentation of test results.
•    Make functional administrative changes that need to be made to the systems on a day to day basis.
•    Work with all GES global teams – participate in cross training and knowledge sharing activities. 
•    Administer risk limits in AACB trading systems and exchange GUIs.
•    Handle customer complaints in an effective and productive manner, and prepare a lessons learnt document.
•    Work with ISV’s over bugs and required enhancements.
•    Promote new GES business and build good relationships with existing clients.
•    Keep Risk department informed of any information that would help them in performing their duties.
•    Manage Day to Day activities in line with existing Level 1 risk and Controls
•    Client on-boarding to be delivered within agreed deadlines  

 

Occasional activities

•    Oversee trading activities in the event of ABN AMRO or Exchange downtime. 
•    Produce accurate billing for clients of GES on a monthly basis.
•    Ensure good communication between GES Department and Compliance on any related issues.
•    Working with our clearing departments on exchange upgrades

Your profile

Required level of education:

•    Ideally degree educated, or a strong academic record to at least GCSE and/or A Level standard (including mathematics). 

Required experience/skills:

•    Experience in a execution and  Electronic Trading support support role.
•    Ability to communicate with clients, brokers exchanges and internal departments.
•    Understanding of Financial Markets including both futures/options and equity markets. 
•    Understanding of the functionality of trading software (Trading Technologies/ FIX engines)
•    Good knowledge of the following exchange GUIs: Eurex C7/T7, CME firmsoft, ICE clearing Admin, Xetra, EEX, LME
•    Accuracy and numerically astute. 
•    Good working knowledge of MS Office
•    An awareness of the regulation that impacts automated and DMA trading.
•    Knowledge of JIRA
•    Basic knowledge of FX trading.
