Are you an ambitious, curious HBO/WO student who wants to understand how Corporate Banking (CB) shapes its risk appetite and determines which risks are worth taking to achieve its goals? Then join us as an intern within the CRO CB, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team. Here, you’ll help enhance our Risk Appetite and Strategic Risk Assessment processes, while developing yourself in a diverse, international team of supportive, experienced risk managers.

Your job

You could take up some or all of the following tasks:

• Help uncover new strategic insights into key risk exposures across clients, segments, and portfolios - considering risk combinations such as Compliance, Sustainability, Credit Risk, IT & Cybersecurity and more.
• Support the preparation of the Risk Appetite Statement (RAS), working with stakeholders across the 1st and 2nd Line of Defence and ensuring alignment on milestones and proposed changes.
• Manage documentation within the ERM central repository (RAS, Rationale Documents, Risk Committee memos, etc.).
• Assist in preparing and running CB Risk Committees - contributing to CRO memos, reviewing risk positions, and following up on action plans and critical events.
• Help draft risk opinions for new proposals and initiatives for senior management, analysing vulnerabilities, exposure, and strategic alignment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure all required risk assessments (RSA, SRA, SIRA, etc.) are completed, and translate those findings into clear, actionable insights for leadership.

Your working environment

As a valued member of the CRO CB team, you’ll take part in a wide range of projects. You’ll help identify and measure risks within the client unit, support the development of harmonized risk processes across Corporate Banking (including its subsidiaries and country units), and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders.

Since the ERM team is newly established, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to help shape how we work - bringing in fresh perspectives and helping build strong, effective processes from the ground up.

Your profile

You’re enthusiastic, proactive, and not afraid to bring new ideas to the table. You communicate clearly, enjoy being detail oriented, and feel confident working both independently and within a team.

You also meet the following criteria: 

• Excellent command of English
• Availability of at least 4 days per week
• HBO or WO level thinking and education
• Currently studying economics, finance, or a related field
• Available for an internship starting in Q2 2026
• Available for 5-6 months

The internship allowance for MBO, HBO, or WO students is €750 per month (based on a 36-hour workweek). You will also recieve a personal work laptop to support your development and daily tasks.
