Senior Business Developer Risk Data & Modelling (Financial Risk Data)
At a glance
Do you, like us, appreciate the importance of reliable data? Are you keen to bring risk data management to a structurally higher level at ABN AMRO? As a Senior Business Consultant Risk Data & Modelling you liaise between business stakeholders and data users. It is your task to understand business needs and translate them into actionable solutions in close collaboration with your stakeholders.
The role will give you the chance to develop to the full, both professionally and personally. Why not get in touch? We’d be interested to hear more about you!
As a Senior Business Developer for Risk Data & Modelling, you will make a vital contribution to supplying reliable risk-related data to various stakeholders in the Risk Management organisation. You will use your knowledge and skills to work with Risk Management, the business and the IT organisation.
You will support various teams in further developing our Non-Financial Risk data platform. This platform processes highly sensitive data, which can also be time-critical, as it is used for ad-hoc investigations. Together with the data users, you will define the required functionalities needed to allow them to switch over from their current systems.
The objective is to enable structural and compliant (ad-hoc) data delivery, transformation, dashboard and report generation on a new Azure cloud based platform. Your main activities are obtaining functional and non-functional requirements, as well as performing mappings. As one of the seniors of the teams, you will be involved in defining and aligning platform-wide, intra-team, decisions on the future of the platform.
Because we are bringing the risk data management process to a structurally higher level, you and your colleagues will be actively working to improve the process where necessary. Autonomous cooperation based on an agile approach will be the key to success.
As Senior Business Developer you work within the Risk Data & Modelling (“RD&M”) Grid. A grid is a clearly and logically defined cluster of teams with end-to-end responsibility for one or more product groups, channels or enablers. A team is a multidisciplinary form of collaboration consisting of professionals from the business lines and the IT organization, who work together autonomously and agile.
The purpose of the Risk Data & Modelling Grid is to help the various departments within Risk to make their decisions, models and reports data driven, by providing insight into the data strategy & requirements, providing analysis capabilities on data, alignment of data with Finance and the delivery of data through the right data processes and systems to the Risk users.
You will become Senior Business Developer in the Risk Data & Modelling department as part of the Risk Data Analysis team. The team is responsible to provide insights . The team’s main clients are the Financial Risk stakeholders, incl. Credit Risk, Central Risk and FR&R (Financial Restructuring & Recovery). Other major stakeholders are Finance, the business, and the IT organisation. Like the other teams, yours will largely consist of young, driven professionals. Because the department is still under development, you will be expected to actively contribute to the strategy for improving the working method. The atmosphere is open and informal. We work hard, but there’s plenty of scope for enjoyment!
You have a proven ability in data analytics, data management, data modelling and/or data architecture. You are energetic, with a passion for combining thinking and doing. You have a handle on what’s going on in the organisation, in particular with your stakeholders. Client focus is the main driver behind your work within the team. You take responsibility. As well as having a strong drive to maintain your own expertise, you’re keen to actively contribute to further developing and improving the area you work in. You’re energised by transferring your expertise to others and are interested in what you can learn from colleagues with other forms of expertise.
If you think this sounds like you, check to see if your profile matches the following:
• You have extensive experience in data modelling (DataVault preferred), business analysis and functional analyses;
• You have the capacity to challenge your stakeholders and get to the "question behind the question";
• You are keen to broaden and deepen your knowledge of data, modelling, process and consultancy;

There will be various growth opportunities in your area of expertise and also beyond, depending on your goals, interests and experience.
