After the summer, ABN AMRO will launch neobank BUUT. And this isn’t just any bank. It’s the new bank created by the makers of Tikkie. Simple to use, interactive, fully visually driven, and 100% at home in the world of the new generation.

BUUT offers everything you’d expect from a bank, but with a Tikkie twist.  

BUUT is built on the knowledge and experience of ABN AMRO and features the same familiar tone, design, and user experience as Tikkie. Completely tailored to the world of the new generation, designed specifically for teens and their parents.

Your mission

As a backend developer at BUUT, you'll join one of our development teams to revolutionize banking for the new generation. Using cutting-edge technology, you'll help build and shape our microservices-based platform that makes banking simple and fun. Here's how you'll make an impact:

• Craft robust microservices using AWS technologies, such as Lambda functions, DynamoDB databases, and API Gateways. Your code will be the backbone of our dynamic platform
• Analyze and enhance systems for growing user demands, implementing performance-tuning and scalability strategies
• Participate in technical and architectural decision-making, shaping the future of our platform with your insights
• Refine our event-driven architecture to efficiently respond to user actions and system changes

What we're Looking for in a BUUT Team Member: 

At BUUT, we're looking for developers who bring positive energy and thrive in our collaborative culture. We value proactive team members who take ownership, provide constructive feedback, and contribute their ideas regardless of seniority. If you're ready to push boundaries while having fun building innovative fintech solutions, check out the requirements:

• Strong independent worker who actively collaborates and contributes to team discussions 
• Good domain knowledge with ability to share expertise with the team 
• Takes initiative in problem-solving and process improvements 
• Clear communicator who positively influences team practices 
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field 
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience 

Technical Requirements 

• GO proficiency (or solid experience with preferably compiled (C/C++, Rust) and strongly typed languages (Java, C#) 
• AWS expertise strong pré - from Lambda and DynamoDB to API Gateways and CloudFront 
• Infrastructure as Code knowledge (AWS CDK in TypeScript preferred, or Terraform/CloudFormation) 
• CI/CD pipeline experience (Github Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar) 
• Strong foundation in best practices: microservices, event-driven architecture, DevSecOps, and automated testing
