IT Data Engineer

We are looking for an enthusiastic data engineer with 3 or more years of experience, to join us at the Finance & Risk Data Domain at the hay level of 9-10. (50.000 - 81000 yearly gross, excluding benefits and based on 36hr/week).

 

This department consists of multiple teams that each work on one or more data products that serve a particular goal. When you join on of these teams, you will work on those data products. These products support the reporting function of the bank, and allow downstream teams to prepare both internal and external reports, that help steer decisions and disclose required information to the central bank.

Your job

You will develop and maintain the automated processes and solutions that create datasets for the rest of the bank. This will be done as part of a scrum team and you will participate in the team's scrum event. Some typical activities include:

  • Monitoring production processes and troubleshooting
  • Creating new data products (onboarding new data, adding transformation logic etc.)
  • Adding features to underlying platforms
  • Improvement and optimization of existing code

Your profile

Our software is built using a mix of Python and SQL, and runs on databricks. Scheduling resides in Airflow and we use several internal libraries/components that provide standardized features for all data teams in ABN AMRO. We are therefore looking for the following skills profile:

  • Python
  • Pyspark / databricks experience
  • SQL
  • Airflow
  • Software development practices such as:
  • Clean code
  • (unit) testing
  • Patterns

We are offering

  • Grade: Hay 9–10 (based on knowledge and experience)
  • Salary range: €50,000 – €81,000 gross per year (based on 36 hours, excluding benefits)
  • A benefit budget of 11% of your base pay (paid out if not used)
  • A development budget of 1000 per year

Interested?

After initial screening, the interview process consists of a first interview to go over the role and relevant experience and skills in broad strokes. This is followed by a technical assignment and a technical interview. The assignment covers the basic aspects of the job and forms a starting point for the second interview. After the second interview we will usually take a decision, although on rare occasions a third interview can take place.
