Senior Java Developer

At a glance

We are looking for a senior Java developer to help us expand and maintain our back-end services within the Credits Capabilities grid.

If you have proven experience in building REST services on Azure and come with a DevOps mindset, then this is the job for you!

Your job

The core of your work will be in development of back-end services on Azure, using Azure Kubernetes Service or Azure App Service but will not be limited to development solely.

With our solution-designer, you will be responsible to ensure our services continue to use modern practices, you will test (unit, integration, functional) and maintain our Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as code.

Your experience will also be a key factor in the development of the junior back-end developers in the team.

Working environment

You'll be joining a dynamic chapter comprising six senior Java developers who regularly connect to collaborate and share knowledge. Our aim is to establish a central platform for exchanging expertise, best practices, and continuous improvement. As a chapter, we'll actively participate in a range of technical conferences while also enjoying fun-filled events such as Go-Karting, bowling etc.

Along with the chapter, you will also be part of one of the six DevOps teams in "Distressed Client Management"(DCM) shop at ABN AMRO. Here, we lead the way in developing innovative IT applications for DCM's shared capability.  You'll play a pivotal role in driving outcomes for our end users and credit providers by turning vision into reality. At ABN AMRO, we're committed to enriching and renewing the lending landscape. This journey begins with streamlining processes, ensuring simplicity and speed, and enhancing our ability to identify customer risks effectively. 

Your profile

An analytical thinker with an eagerness to learn, you have strong communication skills. you are flexible, pro-active and a proven problem-solver.


You have the following experience:

  • You have 5+ years of back-end development experience with Java
  • You have 3+ years of experience in development on Azure

You have knowledge of and experience in:

  • Java 17 or higher
  • Spring boot
  • Web Services (REST)
  • Automated Testing 

We are offering

A small excerpt from our excellent labor conditions:

  • An excellent salary of € 4.823 - € 6.890 per month*
  • Benefit budget of 11% (of your salary). You can decide how you want this to be paid out. For example, as extra holiday allowances, a lease bike, mobile phone, or as salary
  • A personal development budget of 1000 Euro per year.
  • 25 vacation days based on 40 hours (with the possibility to buy more vacation days)
