Lead Product Owner Non-Financial Risk

Are you a driven Product Owner with a passion for risk management and innovation? ABN AMRO is seeking a Product Owner for our Non-Financial Risk Grid team, which plays a crucial role in the bank's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and the 3 Lines of Defence (3LoD) strategy.

Your job

General responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and Manage: Bring clear prioritization to backlog items for assigned block(s), including milestones, roadmaps, and release planning with technical and functional elements.
  • Customer Representation: Represent customer value in the overall product backlog and roadmap.
  • Coordinate Collaborations: Manage complexities arising from cross-block, cross-grid, and 2nd line collaborations.
  • Ownership and Resolution: Take ownership of risk items, ensuring timely execution, delivery, and resolution of deviations and vulnerabilities.
  • Drive Product Delivery: Lead the product delivery process through active participation in Product Backlog Refinement and sprint reviews.
  • Risk Management: Manage product/service risks within risk appetite and address them promptly in the risk management process.
  • Empower Collaboration: Provide platforms for seamless information sharing and teamwork, like data rooms and management software.
  • Ensure Compliance: Deliver solutions to legally exchange financial data with authorities.
  • Support Excellence: Aid audit and compliance functions with robust solutions.

Working environment

About the Non-Financial Risk Grid:

Our NFR Grid consists of approximately 20 business and 45 IT employees, delivering more than 45 future-ready solutions. These solutions enable the 2nd Line Risk Type Owners (RTOs), such as Security Intelligence Management (SIM), IT & Operational Management (I&ORM), and Compliance, to fulfill their roles and ensure non-financial risks remain within the boundaries of ABN AMRO's Risk Appetite Statement (RAS).

 

Non-Financial Risk Grid mission:

  • Innovate and Implement: Design cutting-edge solutions in line with our risk taxonomy, addressing a variety of risks:
    • Change Risk: Create tools for assessments and self-evaluations.
    • Compliance - Market Integrity Risk: Develop solutions to enhance detection and surveillance.
    • Organizational & Employee Integrity Risk: Implement systems for managing conflicts of interest.
    • Data Protection/Privacy Risk: Ensure GDPR-compliant privacy management solutions.
    • Fraud Risk: Craft strategies to minimize financial loss and safeguard reputation.
    • ICT Risk: Develop business continuity solutions to ensure system availability.
    • Other Risks: Address behavioral risks and support whistleblowing initiatives.

Your profile

Who You Are:

  • A seasoned Product Owner, with banking experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with the banking regulatory environment.
  • Experienced with delivering IT solutions in the financial sector.
  • Strong IT background.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sense of ownership.
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging environment, strong can-do mentality, challenging status quo, and proactivity.

  • The gross monthly salary (min. Eur. 6784 - max. Eur. 9703) is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and Benefit Budget.
  • The benefit budget is 11% of your salary. The benefit budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.  
  • Five weeks of paid vacation per year, plus the day after Ascension day and Liberation day (5th of May). You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year. 
  • Personal development budget of EUR 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to EUR 3,000. 
  • Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team). 
  • An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands. 
  • An excellent pension scheme.
