Consultancy Traineeship

How can it be done better, more efficient and cheaper for our clients? As a trainee within the Consultancy Traineeship, you investigate where the Customer Care & Operations department of the Innovation & Technology (I&T) business line can implement further improvements. You may work on automating and digitizing customer processes by means of for example the use of robots or dashboarding, or you analyse the work streams from the teams and advise how the teams can work better and more data driven. You will spend a year interacting with different types of processes and teams, which gives you a broad understanding for you to find out what suits you best!

What does the program look like?

As a trainee you will develop your consultancy skills and you will mainly deal with implementation- and change projects. Central topics include digitization, automation, implementation of new systems, dashboarding and organizational issues. Under the guidance of experienced colleagues, you will learn on the job and at the same time have the opportunity to work in one of the most complex and professional organizations in the Netherlands. By doing this you will build up a lot of knowledge about ABN AMRO’s products and services. Additionally, we also work extensively on your personal development.

What will your working environment be like?

Customer Care & Operations plays an essential role by helping customers who get stuck in their (digital) journey or whenever they have a question about the service. Customer Care is the first point of contact for the customer and Operations is responsible for processing all the activities. Customer Care and Operations work closely together to ensure the customer can reach us, to be able to effectively answer customer questions and to facilitate all of this in simple, digital processes. During the year you will do two or three rotations at different departments within this domain. 

Who are you?

  • You have recently obtained a master’s degree.
  • You have no more than 2 years of work experience.
  • You have affinity with the financial sector and think in the best interest of the customer.
  • You can communicate clearly and have a positive critical attitude.
  • You are eager to (further) develop your consultancy skills through, for example, process optimization or a digitalization issue.
  • We look for diversity in background, field of study and interests.

Collaboration with external partner

For our Finance Traineeship, we work together with agencies. At one of these external partners, you will participate in a program full of training, education and coaching for a year. Following this programme, you will start with a contract with ABN AMRO. The advantage for you as a trainee is that you are free to choose which agency suits you best and where you feel most at home. Below you will find more information about the different agencies, and you also can apply immediately:
