The CDO integrates expertise in data governance, engineering, and management under a unified vision. By implementing the Federated Data Governance Model, the CDO ensures exceptional data quality, optimized processes, and full compliance with regulations.In Enterprise Data Assets Engineering, our goal is to improve business operations and introduce new capabilities across the organisation. To accomplish this, our talented engineers, data scientists, and analysts are responsible for maintaining DQ Check Builder web application to provide Self-Service capability to check their data at multiples across the chain. Using Azure's platform as a service, our developers have delivered a cloud-based solution. The backend is powered by Python & Django, while the frontend provides a rich user interface using VueJS and Typescript.

Your job

As a Senior Python Backend Engineer, you contribute to improving the performance, maintainability, and scalability of ABN AMRO’s applications. You play a key role in laying the foundation for new features while ensuring the application remains reliable for a growing user base.

Your profile

Responsibilities:
•    Design and develop robust backend systems using Django and FastAPI.
•    Identify and devise strategies to resolve technical debt.
•    Analyze bottlenecks in processes and propose effective solutions.
•    Set up and maintain a testing strategy for backend systems, including automation testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end).
•    Collaborate on Linux DevOps setup and deployment processes.
•    Share knowledge with team members and contribute to continuous learning within the team.
•    Critically assess and improve existing code, processes, and team dynamics.
•    Assist in creating maintainable and scalable solutions while implementing new features.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience:
•    5+ years of proven experience in backend development, ideally as a Senior Engineer or Senior Consultant.

Technical Skills:
•    Expert proficiency in Python, Django, and FastAPI.
•    Strong experience with automation testing (unit, integration, and E2E).
•    Proficiency in RESTful API design and data modeling.
•    Experience with Docker and containerization.
•    Hands-on experience with CI/CD practices.
•    Familiarity with relational databases.
•    Knowledge of Azure Cloud Platform and Azure DevOps.

Nice to Have:
•    Full-stack development experience.
•    Experience with Linux DevOps setup.
•    Familiarity with Airflow.
•    Experience setting up monitoring and observability patterns for frontend and backend applications.
