The New Client Take On (NCTO) Onboarding lead is a Manager / Associate Direcctor level role in the Transaction Banking Hub UK. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, TBH UK and plays a pivotal role in providing Implementation Project Management to efficiently onboard new business achieving our financial objectives, enhancing customer experience, maintaining a robust control environment, mitigating risks, forging strong partnerships, and delighting our clients. This position supports the TBH business development and relationship management teams closely.

Success in the NCTO lead role demands a strong passion for client excellence. By working closely with both clients and stakeholders, the NCTO lead significantly contributes to the strategic growth objectives of TBH and ABN AMRO’s UK Branch.

Responsibilities of the NCTO Lead

The NCTO lead is responsible for managing the end-to-end project management of the client onboarding process. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work with key enabling functions such as TBH Business Development, Relationship Managers, Corporate Banking, Detecting Financial Crime (DFC), Compliance, Tax, Legal, Sustainability, and the International Service Desk (ISD) to facilitate the onboarding process.
  • Client Engagement: Initiate onboarding by organizing client-facing kickoff calls to outline TBH’s process approach and assess client requirements for developing client plans.
  • Documentation and System Setup: Interact regularly with clients to ensure accurate documentation and efficient system setup.
  • Onboarding Plans: Develop comprehensive client onboarding plans, encompassing accounts, documentation, products, and system requirements. Track progress through KYC completion, account opening, documentation lodging, system setup, product setup, training, and deal closure.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple NCTOs simultaneously with attention to detail, focusing on timelines, deliverables, and due dates.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with enabling functions to track KYC performance, providing feedback and identifying opportunities for process enhancement.
  • Tools and Templates: Develop and maintain NCTO process templates and tools to enhance process efficiency and transparency.
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Own and update SOPs and work instructions related to systems and NCTO processes.
  • Adherence to Policies: Ensure strict compliance with internal policies and controls.
  • Commercial Mindset: Adapt to a commercially oriented mindset focused on continuous improvement and build professional relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Reporting: Regularly report timelines, deliverables, risks, delays, and impacts to Relationship Management and Business Development teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate successful implementations across multiple functions and countries, including partners in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and France.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Anticipate delays and devise alternative plans and solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to accomplish tasks and provide reporting on NCTO progress, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Enhancing Client Experience: Support and implement tasks that improve the TBH client onboarding experience.

Your profile

Required employment experience / skills

  • Demonstrable experience in transaction banking implementation project management, or general financial industry project management office experience.
  • Strong planning and task prioritization skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Understanding of local payments, technology and liquidity solutions in transaction banking.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory and audit requirements such as record keeping.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Preference for University Level standard or equivalent
  • Understanding of transaction banking industry
  • Familiarity with systems including Microsoft Dynamics, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Preferred but not required:  implementation project processes and skills
