Risk Specialist regarding IFRS9 model ownership
At a glance
Do you get excited about stakeholder management in a complex model landscape? Do you want to work at the heart of Risk Management and are you interested in the strategy of the bank? You don’t have to choose! At Central Risk Management you will help define bank-wide enterprise risk management with a direct link to the overall strategy using your stakeholder management skills.
Central Risk Management enables the stakeholders to be in control. Through our expertise, knowledge & experience, integrated view and ability to pro-actively connect, we deliver on a stronger company. We take well considered decisions through our clear & powerful risk policies, ensuring transparent, stable and robust models that supply useful information. All this evidence supports decision making and a culture of efficient & effective control.
Currently we are looking for a Risk Specialist to join our team, specifically with a focus on the IFRS9 model ownership role and other IFRS9 provision related topics. Someone who gets inspired by connecting the modelling departments with the business. Stakeholder management is key, next to a healthy interest in models but also the ability to oversee the impact on the bank, and its strategy, of certain model changes. Someone who can connect the dots and is able to translate the challenges and changes in the IFRS9 model landscape, into a strategic advice towards Senior Management and the Regulator. By doing so, you generate impact for the bank!
If this sounds like you as a person in combination with your competences, then please contact us!
You will be working with an energetic group of people who share the same drive and vision. Our unique selling point is the diversity of topics and of our colleagues, who come from a background in Risk, Finance, Business or Consultancy and with multiple nationalities. We are always available to help each other. Furthermore, we make time for non-work related activities.
At CRM we give the possibility to work hybrid. We have at least one fixed day in the week were the team comes together at the Gustav Mahlerlaan. We have structural quarterly CRM meetings and we also enjoy “borrels” (drinks), attending (content relevant) events and departmental outings. We also work on our vitality together.
Although your initial placement will be largely within the domain that is characterized by working on IFRS9 model ownership, you will be part of the larger ERM Network. Within the ERM network colleagues could work part of their time on different domains to broaden your knowledge and to create a bank wide risk view. You will facilitate senior management to define an appropriate response to the material risks faced by the Bank. Based on our deliverables we contribute to informed strategic decisions and by that in defining and controlling the Bank’s strategy. The way of working of the ERM Network offers the opportunity to share your knowledge with and contribute to the deliverables of CRM in a broader context. At the same time it offers you the opportunity to learn more about the wider set-up of risk management.
You are a team player who is eager to learn and strives for quality. You are able to liaise with different departments and different management levels within the bank and able to analyse and understand model structures, their strengths and improvements points and can communicate the main points clearly. You are able to switch from a bird’s eye view to your eye for details, and you know when and how to ask for more information. Additionally, you have a good sense of humor.
We deliver high quality products for our internal and external stakeholders and provide advice to facilitate decision making process. To give some insight in what we do, we are:
- Coordinating the monthly provision calculations
- Model owner of several models; IFRS9 models, stress test models and EC models
- Coordinating bank wide themes like Stress Testing, Risk Appetite and ICAAP;
- Advising business lines on the translation of risks into pricing;
- Advising on bank wide risk weighted assets (RWA) & economic capital (EC);
- A centre of expertise with regard to prudential regulation, internal risk policies and risk governance
As all the risks are part of the integrated risk view, we have a good overview of the total risk profile of the bank. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and work on one or several products. You will be provided with a knowledge intensive working environment.
We value knowledge sharing, within as well as outside of our own department. Together we are constantly in motion in order to respond to our changing environment, which is becoming more complex and demanding.
