Are you a commercial driven financial specialist and are you eager to advise corporate clients on their financing strategy while working in a highly professional team that is strongly connected with banks, clients and advisors? In the Syndicated Loan Origination team you will be responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of syndicated loans, club deals and event driven transactions for our clients. Within our team we work across EMEA and across various sectors, out of our offices in Amsterdam and London.
Syndicated Loan Origination is part of the Financing Solutions unit of ABN AMRO’s Corporate Banking business line. All lending products and expertise are clustered in this product unit. We are responsible for the structuring of a variety of lending products for all sectors and segments. These activities are executed in the following departments: Lending, Specialised & Syndicated Lending (including Syndicated Loan Origination, Leveraged Finance, Export Finance, Project Finance and FI Lending) and Corporate Investments.
Your job
As a member of the Syndicated Loan Origination team, you will be involved in building sustainable long-term relationships with clients and prospects by offering tailor-made financing solutions and using specialised sector and structuring expertise. You will be involved in originating and leading new deals, including pitching to clients, structuring and executing transactions, and coordination with other banks. During transactions we closely collaborate with departments such as Loan Syndicate and the Sustainability Expertise team. The latter in particular when it concerns a green/sustainability linked transaction. You will further be part of different Client Service Teams (CST), managed by the Coverage Bankers to develop the broad commercial relationship with clients.
Your job also includes contribution to internal projects such as process optimisation, innovation, regulatory developments and other organisation-wide initiatives.
You will work closely with juniors and trainees. Part of your job is to coach and develop the juniors and trainees while they rotate in the team.

The Syndicated Loan Origination team works closely together ensuring that new deals, fully aligned with the ‘Banking for Better’ strategy of the bank, are onboarded and that the portfolio is sound and growing in a sustainable.
Your profile
The ideal candidate is an experienced corporate banker with >6yr relevant experience in commercial and/ or investment banking. You are a strong communicator, have well-developed analytical skills, have a thorough understanding of credit risks and credit and capital structures. As a true finance professional, you are able to adapt to changes and use them to your advantage.
University education or professional qualification;
Ability to communicate clearly and openly;
Minimum 5 years of relevant financial and/ or commercial experience;
Strong eye for commercial opportunities;
Strong analytical skills, able to understand and develop financial structures;
Team player and effectively coach rotating trainees;
Strong communication skills, able to connect with clients and relevant stakeholders;
High integrity and well-balanced personality.
