Summer Intern - Financing Solutions
At a glance
We have an exciting opprtunity for a Summer Intern to join our Financing Solutions team starting, June 22nd for 8 weeks.
Your job
As an intern, you will work within ABN AMRO’s Financing Solutions (“FS”) team. FS is responsible for the Bank’s lending - so you will be involved in debt financing transactions across our corporate and financial sponsor client base.
In FS, you will be an active member of the deal team, working directly with senior bankers. You will be part of a small pool of analysts and associates, who are part of the two-year ABN AMRO traineeship, so you can best understand the roles of junior bankers - with coaching and learning opportunities from across the deal teams.
You will gain an understanding of the key elements of originating, assessing, structuring, and executing transactions, with active participation in these deals being highly encouraged.
The day-to-day will be a combination of transaction execution, financial modelling, risk analysis, credit risk writing, producing pitching materials, due diligence reviews, and portfolio management.
In the UK, Financing Solutions is made up of five distinct teams:
- Leveraged Finance: originating and executing leveraged buyout transactions of UK business owned by private equity / sponsors.
- Project Finance: originating and structuring financing for large scale UK projects in energy transition and digital sectors such as data centres, battery storage, EV charging, renewable energy
- Corporate Lending: responsible for debt financing and credit management for UK & Irish corporates across Digital & Consumer, Manufacturing & Mobility, Energy and Real Estate sectors
- FI Specialised Lending: responsible for debt financing and credit management for UK and international insurance and pension clients
- Commercial Finance: responsible for originating and executing receivables purchase facilities with UK and European clients
You will have the opportunity to work with teams across the Bank particularly with Client Coverage (who provide sector insight and lead on client relationships); with Markets (debt capital markets, hedging and distribution); and Risk (credit risk approval).
Through the wider bank collaboration, Financial Solutions is central to supporting our clients’ funding needs, delivering structuring expertise and market intelligence to tailor financing solutions.
