Your opportunity to guide the international Wealth Management business. As Compliance Officer for the Wealth Management business (WM) you identify areas for improvement and enable the business to make the right decisions by providing high quality advice on a broad range of topics including investment propositions, client investment portfolios and strategic projects. Client investment risk is an important part of the job.

You will work with a variety of experts in 1^st and 2^nd line teams in NW Europe and engage in a broad range of projects.  This gives you an excellent opportunity to work with senior 2^nd line officers and broaden and deepen your knowledge and expertise on Duty of Care, Investments, Conduct and many other aspects of Compliance.

Your job

In this job you will

• Act as a senior advisor and challenger to the first line in WM Clients and Wealth Products, safeguarding the WM risk appetite for Compliance and Client investment risk
• Strike the right balance between our clients’ interests, other stakeholders’ interests and the applicable legislation and regulations
• Define, monitor and analyse Client investment risk metrics
• Partner with the first line to remediate control gaps, define action plans, and monitor progress
• Deliver high-quality advice and clear risk narratives to support executive decision-making
• Take individual and joint responsibility for specific tasks, such as advising on compliancy of marketing and communication texts, behavioural risks and new and reviewed products and services
• Follow relevant internal and external developments and translating these into expert advice 

Working environment

Compliance aims to protect the bank, its clients and its employees against compliance risks. Your role is multidisciplinary: you are a professional who can efficiently respond to new challenges by combining multiple disciplines in your work and showing countervailing power. This requires a specific blend of hard and soft skills with the ability to inspire colleagues and take a strategic perspective. You work in a dynamic team of ~10 Business Compliance Officers providing guidance and support to the Client Unit Wealth Management. You will report to the Lead Business Compliance WM. Due to the broad nature of your work there is every opportunity to follow a steep learning curve with respect to Compliance and Client investment risk topics.   

Your profile

•    Academic work and thinking level preferably in economics/finance/legal
•    Knowledge of and a keen interest in investment products, standalone and in portfolio context
•    7+ years of experience in risk management/compliance
•    Strong analytical skills with the ability to advise at a strategic level
•    Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
•    A ‘can do’ attitude, self-drive, and decisive
•    You act with integrity and foster strong ethical standards
•    Proficient in English and preferably also Dutch, both verbally and in writing. 
•    Advanced compliance certifications are a plus
