ABN AMRO Clearing is a global firm that provides an integrated suite of financial services to professional investors in the global financial market. Our core service offering consists of execution, clearing, financing, stock borrowing and lending, settlement and custody.

 

Role Purpose

 

The purpose of this role is to oversee various Finance functions in the Sydney office, and ensure that timely and accurate financial information is provided to management and Head Office for strategic planning and decision making. A significant purpose of this role is to ensure adherence to ASIC and ASX rules and regulations. This role is a permanent full-time role.

 

Role Responsibilities

 

  • Responsibility of the general ledgers that form the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss of the entity, and ensure the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of all reconciliations
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in place and are updated as required
  • Responsibility of local and Head Office financial reporting, and gain familiarity of Local and Head Office Accounting Standards
  • Oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Ensure daily Client Segregated Trust Account calculation and reconciliations are completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents and regulators on various matters
  • Day-to-day supervision of junior staff and assist with professional development

 

Role Requirements

 

  • Qualified Accountant CA/CPA or equivalent
  • 5+ years relevant working experience within finance and banking sector
  • Sound understanding of various financial activities and products, including securities licence requirements
  • Knowledge of Exchange rules and regulations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate and interact comfortably with different stakeholders
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment and prioritise competing demands
  • Strive for continuous improvements and efficiencies in processes
  • Leadership skills to assist with the development of junior staff
