At a glance

Within the Platform & Technology organisation (IT4IT) the department Development Tooling is responsible for managing 120+ applications that support ABN AMRO IT teams (~3000 IT engineers) in CICD practices. Within our toolstack are Azure DevOps, SonarQube, Nexus, Fortify, Jira, Confluence, Ansible Tower, NeoLoad, and more. We have a vision for a compliant development path into production with minimal complexity. To achieve this compliant path into production we provide our customers with automated, easy, fast, secure, effective, efficient pipelines and our capability expertise with teams in the Netherlands and India.

Who are we?

We are ADOPT (Azure DevOps Platform Team)! Currently we have 5 developers (one of them you’ll be replacing), a product owner and a scrum master. Our expertise ranges from .NET, TypeScript, Azure DevOps Infra (e.g., Agents) and AKS. We are a real DevOps team, that means that aside from developing, everyone helps with the ops part as well. We have a weekly office day on Tuesdays in Amstelveen, but every now and then we also get together in smaller groups to pair on stories. All of us are based in the Netherlands (but we have diverse backgrounds, so if you speak, Arabic, Friesian or Hungarian you will not be the only one!). 

We see ourselves as a team that strives to deliver, but we find it important to have fun while doing so. This means that while we (try to) keep our meetings efficient, we take the time to have some fun during them as well. We put time into making each other better, for example: a workshop on personal values, or knowledge sessions to learn new stuff. We strive to have an environment in which we can trust each other. We encourage a “fail fast – learn fast” attitude, and we practice what we preach. Most important: at the end of the day, we believe that if you enjoy your work and the team, the quality of what we deliver will improve. 
 

What do we do?

Enough about us, what is it that we do? We manage the ABN AMRO Azure DevOps environment. This means that we enable over 3000 developers to run their pipelines, host their code, and bring their software to production. On a day-to-day basis we work on things like

  • Develop automated onboarding to Azure DevOps
  • Implementing the governance model to ensure a secure platform by developing automation to enforce standards
  • Improve the performance of our agents
  • Support developers when they run into issues with the platform
  • Investigate new methods to improve our automation

Your profile

We’re looking for someone who, most importantly, wants to work on automation for Azure DevOps and bring the teams development knowledge to a higher level. Knowledge of Azure DevOps is a must. You’ve worked with Azure, especially Azure Functions/Durable Functions, and other services. It is important that you have at least 5+ years of experiences with C# and .NET. We’re looking for someone who is able to take the lead in technical discussions and who can mentor the junior team-members. We place emphasis on behavioural skills: you enjoy working in a team, know how to express yourself in a constructive way, and you are pro-active.
