Senior Backend Developer

At a glance

We are looking for a T-shaped senior back-end developer to help us expand and maintain our back-end services with new personal Finance Management features.
If you have proven experience in building REST services on Azure and don't want to limit yourself to a single programming language, than this is the job for you!

Your job

As a T-shaped senior back-end developer you will be a key contributor to the Transaction Insights Platform (TIP).
The core of your work will be in development of REST services on Azure, using Azure Functions (Python), or Azure App Service Containers (Java), but will not be limited to development solely.
With our solution-designer, you will be responsible to ensure ensure our platform continues to use modern practices, you will test (unit, load, integration, functional) and maintain (PKI, DNS, IP) the services we have built, write the occasional script to improve our CI/CD pipeline and help the team in making key decisions on selecting the preferred Azure Service!
Your experience will also be a key factor in the development of the junior back-end developers in our team.

Working environment

The team is a happy, hardworking team at different levels of experience originating from different software-engineering fields, we mainly work from home, but don't shy away from having some fun together when we can!
We consist of six back-end developers, one solution-designer, one product-owner, and one chapter-lead, all but one working from the Netherlands.
The product you will work on is the Transaction Insights Platform, which is a landscape of REST services providing generic APIs for our consumers (other back-ends/front-end applications wanting to use insights based on transaction-data for their business processes), which is a relatively new system which was designed for the cloud (Functions as a Service ea.).

You’ll be working in the Digital Channel Capabilities grid, in short DCC. This department is responsible for digital solutions for our clients and other departments within the organisation.
Your manager will be the chapter-lead in your team, who will be there to guide/help you in your professional development.

Your profile

An analytical thinker with an eagerness to learn, you have strong communication skills. you are flexible, pro-active and a proven problem-solver.

You have the following experience:

  • You have 5+ years of back-end development experience (preferably some with Python)
  • You have 3+ years of experience in development on Azure
  • You have both development and run experience for applications you have developed

 

You have knowledge of and experience in:

  • Web Services (REST)
  • Automated Testing
