Internship Sustainability within wealth: digitalisation

At a glance

Sustainability is an important part of ABN AMRO's strategy. Our overarching goal is to accelerate the transition to sustainability. At the moment we send out a lot of physical paper reports to Wealth clients. For example: out of approx. 70.000 Investment reports 51.000 are sent to clients on paper (so around 75%!).

We are looking for a student of a Dutch University with a passion to sustainability who will undertake the internship assignment and create draft a plan on how we can digitalize more of these reports! 

Your job

Your internship will start with interviewing various stakeholders within Wealth. Both on the business side and within IT to figure out the following:

  • What type of reports are we currently sending out to clients within Wealth? And which percentage is on paper vs digital?
  • What are the possibilities and the limitations if we would increase the amount of digital reports? What is expected from clients and how will this impact them? What is needed on the IT/Business/Communication side is we were to implement more digitalization?
  • What can the “Paperless” program within ABN AMRO contribute?    

 Based on your interviews analyze the possibilities, define a clear scope for an initiative, and provide a suggestion for implementation.

  • Regularly keep the LT of Wealth updates on your findings and progress of your assignment
  • At the end of your assignment your deliverable is to have an agreed and committed proposal for an initiative within Wealth on how to digitalise reports in at least one areas.

Grid Wealth is responsible for a wide variety of products and services to our Retail and Private Banking customers. We serve clients in Investments, pensions, and fiscal saving clients. We help them to oversee their finances, make sound financial decisions and grow their Wealth for comfortable financial future. In the grids colleagues from both business and IT work together in multidisciplinary teams and share responsibility for delivering the roadmap of our Investments and Advice solutions in the Netherlands. Within the grid we develop and maintain a variety of applications using many different technologies and innovative (IT)concepts!

Your profile

We are looking for skilled and high-performing interns, who will help us shape the future of ABN AMRO.

•    You are a student of a Dutch University. 

•    Demonstrable interest in Sustainable IT (Green Coding) and/or investments 

•    You are able to start in March 2024. 

•    You are available for 3 - 6 months.

•    You have programming skills, preferably in Java and Mainframe.

•    You have excellent written and spoken English. Dutch language is an asset. 

You are communicative, proactive, analytical and are able to work independently!
