Your job

Besides this, working on your personal development is a key component of the programme. Industry experts, professional trainers and ABN AMRO Clearing managers facilitate the different sessions. It is a great start to your ABN AMRO Clearing career!

In the 12-month programme, we offer you three rotations. You take full responsibility for your own assignments but will be guided in your journey by a mentor, hiring manager and assignment managers. You will be rotating to different departments in with an option to work abroad.

Choose your track
Business track: if you apply as business trainee this means you could be working on product or service improvements, or you may be involved in developing a new risk model. During your rotations, you get to know different parts of the organisation and branch out into the fields of Commerce, Operations, Finance or Risk; broadening your knowledge base and network. After the programme, you will be ready to start in you first role at ABN AMRO Clearing.

IT track: if you apply as IT trainee, you will be working in the grids of Clearing transforming client needs into brilliant code and IT software designs. You may be working on our client portal, supporting the development of our fractional trading engine or even increase the efficiency of our IT Risk models.

Your working environment

In banking, Clearing denotes all activities from the time a financial instrument is bought or sold on an exchange until it is settled. ABN AMRO Clearing acts as an intermediary between clients and the exchanges these clients trade on. We become the buyer to the seller and seller to the buyer taking over the risk to reconcile orders between the parties in the transaction. Processing around 20 million transactions a day. We do so for professional traders, investment managers and large corporates. As clients are highly demanding and the market environment fluctuates, you are guaranteed to learn a lot in a short space of time. Working at ABN AMRO Clearing means thriving in an international, professional yet informal, fast-paced, IT-driven environment.

Your profile

Business track: You have a bachelor’s degree – preferably followed by a master’s degree (not necessarily in Finance). You are attracted to the global financial markets; you are highly analytical and you embrace technological developments. You can bring colleagues from different backgrounds, expertise and cultures together in order to optimally serve our clients. The continuously changing environment in which regulations and sustainability play an important role requires an adaptive mindset. You are curious by nature, drawn to continuous improvement and innovations. You have an entrepreneurial spirit, creative mind-set and can assess and evaluate risks.
IT track: You have a bachelor’s degree – preferably followed by a master’s degree – in Computer Science or related fields. You want to explore your capabilities to transform client needs into brilliant code and IT software designs. If you have a different bachelor’s and/or master’s degree, but have proven experience in software development, you are welcome to apply. The continuously changing environment requires an adaptive mindset. You are analytical, decisive and enjoy learning in an international environment.
