Then we need your help in making our ABN AMRO teams reach the high grounds. As a Chapter Lead for our Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Azure group you will contribute to a sustainable bank. You do this by;

Focusing on building a foundation of simple, cost-efficient, easy to maintain forward-looking solutions. Staying  up-to-date and inspiring others to do the same on getting things done and adhere to the latest developments on Azure.

Mentoring your team members to become technical experts and enhance their IT craftmanship. Both you and all our employees get the freedom to grow and experiment. Your work

As Chapter Lead, you will combine working as an IT Engineer with your role as manager of the chapter. Over half of the time you will work in your own team on IT roadmap preparation, analyzing, designing, developing/coding, testing, maintaining and realizing the highest quality and future proof IT solutions. The rest of the time you will make sure you will be on an on-going learning path and educate others to achieve higher and more creative technical capabilities and move towards state of the art solutions.


Primary focus will be on:

  1. Mentoring your Chapter members on technical craftsmanship.
  2. Actively participating in knowledge gaining and sharing by joining triangles, circles, communities and events. 
  3. Proper alignment with stakeholders both from IT and Business 
  4. Working in a DevOps environment and advocating the DASA DevOps way of working.
  5. On a strategic level you make sure that everything continues to work flawlessly, mentor your team, execute and experiment with technical assessments, do interviews and ensure that new employees are properly onboarded.
  6. Take care of the HR processes to facilitate all aspects relating to the influx, development, performance and outflux of employees. Above all, be flexible and willing to learn and develop yourself further and further.
  7. Manage all vendor application, incident and service agreement. Follow the bank standards and guideline.
  8. Align with Grid Architect on IT standards and FSA and align with teams.
  9. Last but not least, enjoy together with your colleague Chapter Leads to make sure that we as a team continue to walk the extra fun mile with our complete product and service chain delivery.

Working climate

The NFR grid is a mix of a deep combination of business and technology expertise that is challenging all of us every day of the week. If you come to work for the NFR grid, you will realize how fun, ownership, responsibility, accuracy and drive become your reality. The Azure Chapter will have about 15 members with various levels of experience. You will be working with some of the chapter members also in your team. The key focus area of your block will be in and around regulatory reporting. We’re constantly changing within our chain of applications.

We apply DevOps and own what we do in mindset, behavior, and execution: Whatever you do, you build it, you run it, you love it. Think of automate first, too. You report to the IT Lead who is also your sparring partner for challenges with regards to staffing or other bigger topics like architecture.

As Chapter Lead, you will work in a fast paced and accessible environment. We love to share knowledge with and to challenge each other, for example by sharing our expertise in our blocks, during the events of our developer community and by organizing hackathons.

ABN AMRO utilizes adaptable working hours, and you can choose for yourself whether you telecommute or at the workplace by planning this with your team. Normally team members are at the office in Amsterdam for no less than two days each week.

Your profile

You have a positive and proactive mentality with which you tackle difficulties for your chapters and grid and draw in ownership to you. You look for contact with different departments, intently observe the turns of events and guidelines team, and are proactive in the channels that are facilitating for your work and for your field. You contribute in a refinement meeting to make or enhance the client stories, IT stories and grid stories. Your knowledge is looked with regards to a specialist in the Azure, DevOps, and HR Activities  along with mentoring others and also from different IT needs.

We are searching for hard experience in the accompanying focuses:

  • at least 5 years of experience on Microsoft Azure ( DevOps , Services, Infrastructure as a code )
  • at least 5 year of experience on Azure Development databricks, ADF, DevOps Pipeline and Bicep Templates, SQL queries, database management, pyspark and pysql, writing software in Python and have a good understanding of API development
  • You can back-up your claim of Azure thought leadership through Azure certifications. Don’t forget about your willingness to be on an on-going learning path.
  • You are comfortable with coaching people and have good people skills.
  • Even better if you have a track record in working in environments with sensitive data and fine grained access management
  • It’s a plus if you have experience in working with complex databases, think of Oracle and Azure SQL
  • You are experienced and comfortable in working with many different features of Azure, IaaS (I.E. Linux VMs) , PAAS and on azure native tooling
  • You have experience in working with Azure in large scale environments with complex network setups

4)Teaching skills and mentoring.

We offer

  • The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
    • The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
  • Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
  • Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
  • Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
  • An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
  • An excellent pension scheme.
