Active Portfolio Steering Expert

Be part of the broader Credit Portfolio Management team (“CPM”) and be part of the Active Portfolio Steering Cluster (APS).

Working environment

CPM consists of 72 experts, 5 expert leads and the Head of CPM, reflecting a diverse range of professional and personal backgrounds. The team is at the centre of CB’s capital efficient strategy, being responsible for capital allocation & pricing, data & model management, performance management & analytics, active portfolio steering and program lending oversight.

 

APS translates the tactical and strategic objectives of Corporate Banking and Wealth Management into the Strategic Capital Allocation on a segment level and portfolio steering activities in order to achieve an optimum credit portfolio. In doing so, it considers the situation from the financial, risk and strategic perspectives. The tools to achieve effective steering include OtD tools such as portfolio transactions, single name solutions (guarantees, insurance, secondary sales), as well as the establishment of co-lending partnerships. APS works closely together with Relationship Bankers (Coverage), Lending and Financial Markets to execute transactions. 

Your job

This role specifically focusses on Integrated Steering Framework and the Strategic Capital Allocation.

 

Activities in more detail:

  • Setting the capital allocation budget together with Finance
  • Ensuring the integrated view of CPM is incorporated in the capital allocation budget, including clear KPIs per sector
  • Coordinating the integrated portfolio steering framework cycle
  • Steer the segments and portfolios based on integrated CPM view from the strategic, financial and risk lens together with the business heads
  • Creating the feedback loop between the steering meetings – MT CPM – capital allocation budget – steering meetings
  • Reporting on RWA and capital developments – including mitigating and steering actions
  • Align with ALM and Finance on capital forecasts and developments 
  • RWA mitigation through process and DQ reviews

 

You will work in the APS cluster. We are a lean team. Individual team members need to be able to lead projects from beginning to the end. Where needed we can make agile project teams for the different projects, tapping into the diverse profiles of CPM.
 

Your profile

Specific background / capabilities:

  • You have an academic background (preferably Finance / Economics);
  • You have 2-5 years of experience in the finance industry;
  • You have working experience in either Asset Management, Lending, Credit Risk, ALM, Markets and/or Finance
  • You have a positive mindset and will be positively challenged by structural problems;
  • You get energy from driving the change, making an impact and have an execution mind set;
  • You have excellent stakeholder management skills.
