In Enterprise Data Assets Engineering, our goal is to improve Data Quality and provide different Master Data Management capabilities, contributing to bank vision “ A personal bank in the digital age driven by data “. To accomplish this, our talented engineers, and data analysts are responsible for democratising data via different Data capabilities.

Your job

As Chapter Lead Reliability & Infrastructure Engineering, you will combine working as a Reliability  Engineer, with your role as leading the chapter of Reliability Engineers. About 60% of the time you will work in your own block (devops team) on refining, analysing, designing, developing/coding, testing, maintaining and realizing good quality and future proof IT solutions. The rest of the time you will manage your team. 

 

Primary focus will be on:

  • Mentoring your Chapter members on technical craftsmanship.
  • Actively participating in knowledge gaining and sharing by joining triangles, circles, communities and events. 
  • Proper alignment with stakeholders both from IT and Business 
  • Working in a DevOps team and creating a good atmosphere for innovation.
  • On a strategic level you make sure that everything continues to work flawlessly, mentor your team, execute and experiment with technical assessments, do interviews and ensure that new employees are properly onboarded.
  • Take care of the HR processes to facilitate all aspects relating to the influx, development, performance and outflux of employees. Above all, be flexible and willing to learn and develop yourself further and further.

Working environment

The Enterprise Data Assets Engineering department is where we have different data capabilities such as Data Quality, Master Data Management, Enterprise Reference Data, Global Organization Data and Enterprise Party Reference. Those applications, along with many others, support the data strategy of ABN AMRO by creating tailor-made innovative solutions that enables the Federated Data Governance Model (FDM). We are always looking for the best way to collaborate to solve the most various challenges related to the data world.

The Chapter Reliability & Infrastructure Engineering will have about 6-8 members with various levels of experience. You will be working with some of the chapter members also in your team. You will be lead of the chapter, guiding, mentoring and coaching the members of chapter on various aspect.

We apply DevOps and own what we do in mindset, behaviour, and execution: Whatever you do, you build it, you run it, you love it. Think of automate first, too. You report to the IT Lead who is also your sparring partner for challenges with regards to staffing or IT delivery.

As Chapter Lead, you will work in a fast paced and accessible environment. We love to share knowledge with and to challenge each other, for example by sharing our expertise in our blocks, during the events of our developer community and by organizing hackathons.

ABN AMRO utilizes adaptable working hours, and you can choose for yourself whether you telecommute or at the workplace by planning this with your team.

Your profile

You have a positive and proactive mentality with which you tackle difficulties for your chapters and grid and draw in ownership to you. You look for contact with different departments, intently observe the turns of events and guidelines team, and are proactive in the channels that are facilitating for your work and for your field. You contribute in a refinement meeting to make or enhance the client stories, IT stories and grid stories. Your knowledge is looked with regards to a specialist in the Data Engineering.

In addition, you have a proven track record in the following:

  • Experience on different Azure Services (Azure Data Factory, App Services and Virtual Machine,  Infrastructure as a code) and platform Engineering.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, testing and deploying services with a focus on high availability, low latency.
  • Knowledge on how to monitor and manage applications. You build it, deploy it, and run it.
  • Knowledge on Tower Dashboard and different operational KPI.
  • Good understanding on patching, vulnerabilities and security of the applications.
  • Must have an operational mindset, helps team to ensure higher availability of application and meet the defined SLAs.
  • You are comfortable with coaching people and have good people skills.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Nice to have migration and mainframe experience.

We are offering

  • The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
  • The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
  • Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
  • Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
