Mendix IT Engineer

Are you a skilled Mendix developer with at least 2 years of experience and a solid foundation in business knowledge? Do you want to use your expertise to build impactful IT products that help the bank manage critical risks such as Fraud, Corruption, and Cybercrime? Our Rapid team is looking for a passionate Mendix Engineer to join our dynamic scrum team and make a real difference. 

Your job

Within the Rapid team, you will design and develop fast, high‑impact Mendix solutions that support our stakeholders in their essential risk‑management activities. Your work directly contributes to protecting the bank and its clients. Alongside development, you ensure that all Mendix applications run smoothly by monitoring and maintaining them, providing users with a stable and highly available service. You will also take responsibility for managing and optimizing Azure DevOps pipelines and cloud infrastructure. By doing so, you enable efficient, scalable, and secure deployments and help maintain a reliable development and release environment that supports business continuity. Working closely with the Product Owner and your scrum team, you help shape the technical and IT vision for the future and contribute to innovative, forward‑looking solutions. We are looking for someone with a proactive mindset who enjoys tackling challenges and thrives in a team environment where openness, learning, and development are central. You understand Agile software development and embrace a DevOps mentality. Knowledge sharing comes naturally to you, and you stay up to date with developments in your field. You are someone who digs deeply into problems, showing persistence and curiosity until you fully understand the issue and can find the best solution.

Working environment

You will be part of the Non-Financial Risk grid, collaborating with a diverse, fun, and hardworking group. We provide a flexible working environment with two days per week in the office, alongside a monthly grid-level collaboration day where you can engage and align with colleagues across the grid. 

Your profile

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Mendix Studio Pro (building apps, microflows, domain models, pages, and security implementation).
  • Strong understanding of Mendix architecture (multi-tenant, cloud-native, low-code principles).
  • Experience with version control, automated testing, and monitoring in Mendix.
  • Sufficient knowledge of REST APIs and CSS/JavaScript to integrate and customize solutions effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player mindset.
  • Knowledge of the Azure platform and Azure DevOps pipelines for Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD).
  • And, as you’ll be part of an international team, you are fluent in English.

After initial screening, the interview process consists of a first interview to go over the role and relevant experience and skills in broad strokes. This is followed by a technical assignment and a technical interview. The assignment covers the basic aspects of the job and forms a starting point for the second interview. After the second interview we will usually take a decision, although on rare occasions a third interview can take place.
